SUDS AT KLAHOOSE WILDERNESS RESORT
As stewards of the lands and waters, the Klahoose Wilderness Resort family strives at maintaining a minimal carbon footprint in its daily operations. We are pleased to support some wonderful local businesses such as the Indigenous-owned Raven Song Soap and Candle company from Campbell River.
Our guest rooms feature the Raven Song soap creations which are hand made in the cold process tradition, in small batches using premium natural ingredients. The White Raven blend was chosen as our in-room guest bars. It features natural oils and a light scent of Bergamot, Juniper berry, Rosemary and Lime.
“My mother once told me to tell my stories with my soap – this has resonated as a way to maintain memories of my childhood on Haida Gwaii, my travels and my life experiences. The White Raven is a mythological being of Haida legends with pure white feathers. She managed to trick the chief who held the moon captive and released it back into the sky bringing light to the world. As she flew through the smoke hole of the longhouse to release the moon, the soot stained her wings and the transformation begun.” Valerie Lamirande Raven Song Soap and Candle.
