KLAHOOSE WILDERNESS RESORT NAMED AMONG CANADA’S TOP RESORTS IN CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER’S 2026 READERS’ CHOICE AWARDS
#14 Top Resorts in Canada - The World's Best Resorts
LUND, British Columbia, October 6, 2026 — Condé Nast Traveler has named Klahoose Wilderness Resort the No. 14 resort in Canada in its 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards. Owned by the Klahoose First Nation, it is the only Indigenous owned resort among the 15 properties recognized in the Canadian resort category.
This year, Condé Nast Traveler received 798,867 survey responses from readers rating their travel experiences around the world. The annual Readers’ Choice Awards reflect the places and experiences that readers value most.
“To have Klahoose Wilderness Resort recognized as one of the top resorts in Canada in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards is especially meaningful because this recognition comes directly from travellers. The resort allows us to welcome guests into our traditional territory and share the beauty, culture and spirit of this place in a way that supports our Nation and creates opportunities for our people. We are proud to see the Klahoose experience resonate with visitors from around the world.”— Chief Kevin Peacey, Klahoose First Nation.
For the Klahoose First Nation, the resort is a way to welcome visitors into its territory on its own terms. Klahoose hosts help shape the experience from the moment guests arrive, welcoming them with song and sharing stories, knowledge and cultural practices throughout their stay. These personal connections invite guests to experience Desolation Sound through the perspectives of a people whose connection to this territory spans millennia.
Set on the shores of Homfray Channel in Desolation Sound, Klahoose Wilderness Resort has just seven lodge rooms and cedar cabins. Stays bring together cultural experiences, marine wildlife tours, seasonal grizzly bear viewing in Toba Inlet, chef prepared dining and time on the water. Guests can also kayak, paddleboard and relax in a floating cedar sauna. The resort is accessible by an included boat transfer from Lund or by seaplane.
