Operations Update - Covid-19
We are open and we look forward to welcoming you to the Resort! We are working diligently on our detailed Covid plan now implemented for the 2021 season. This plan will meet all industry guidelines for COVID-19, with the goal to ensuring all staff, guests and our communities remain safe.
We are also now ready to welcome fully vaccinated Americans to visit as of August 9, 2021. On September 7, 2021, provided that Canada’s COVID-19 epidemiology remains favourable, we also expect the federal government to open Canada’s borders for recreational travel by fully-vaccinated travellers from any country. Fully vaccinated travellers are those who have completed the full course of vaccination with a Government of Canada-accepted vaccine at least 14 days prior to entering Canada and who meet specific entry requirements.
As we continue our season, we will require each guests visiting to complete a health questionnaire prior to the arrival.
Desolation Sound and our wilderness location offers an abundance of open spaces. Outside you have the ability to move freely around the grounds from massive dock area and surrounding waters and through the trails in the surrounding forest. Inside the main lodge with its lounge and dinning area, we have introduced new health and safety protocols so everyone can enjoy the comforts while having a safe place to relax and enjoy. We will continue to follow new health guidelines as they arise. More details on these guidelines by the BC Center for Disease Control, a division of the BC Ministry of Health is being followed and found here: Covid-19 Guidance to the Hotel Sector. In your rooms, we have maintained a high level of cleanliness, supplemented by new sanitization standards required by WorkSafeBC.
