Operations Update - Covid-19
We look forward to welcoming you to the Resort! After a full season closure Klahoose Resort (formerly Homfray Lodge in 2020), we are working diligently on our detailed Covid plan to implement for the Klahoose Resort for the 2021 season. This plan will meet all industry guidelines for COVID-19, with the goal to ensuring all staff, guests and our communities remain safe.
Desolation Sound and our location in Homfray Channel is remote and offers an abundance of open spaces. Outside you have the ability to move freely around the grounds from massive dock area and surrounding waters and through the trails in the surrounding forest. Inside the main lodge with its lounge and dinning area, we have introduced new health and safety protocols so everyone can enjoy the comforts while having a safe place to enjoy. We will continue to follow new health guidelines as they arise. More details on these guidelines by the BC Center for Disease Control, a division of the BC Ministry of Health is being followed and found here: Covid-19 Guidance to the Hotel Sector. In your rooms, we have maintained a high level of cleanliness, supplemented by new sanitization standards required by WorkSafeBC.
Over the 2020 season, we safely operated our grizzly bear viewing tours in Toba Inlet. Our team and partners assembled COVID-19 policies and best practices that followed the industry guidelines and our health authorities. These protocols meant we were able to provide guests with amazing marine wildlife and grizzly bear viewing experience while keeping everyone comfortable and safe. For information and operations updates with Klahoose Coastal Adventures for our Grizzly Bear Viewing Tours see here.
These procedures for Klahoose Resort and Klahoose Coastal Adventures will continue to be developed and adjusted as new standards are implemented by relevant authorities and tourism industry.
