Canada's Leading Wilderness Resort - World Travel Awards

LUND, British Columbia, October 13, 2026 — Klahoose Wilderness Resort has been named Canada’s Leading Wilderness Resort at the 2026 World Travel Awards. The recognition marks the second time the Klahoose First Nation owned resort has received the title, following its win in 2024.

Set on the shores of Homfray Channel in Desolation Sound, the resort welcomes guests into the traditional territory of the ƛoʔos qayɛmɩxʷ Klahoose People. Its intimate stays bring together Klahoose cultural experiences, wildlife viewing, and time on the ocean.

“Receiving the title of Canada’s Leading Wilderness Resort for a second time is a tremendous honour for the Klahoose First Nation. This recognition reflects the vision behind Klahoose Wilderness Resort and the dedication of everyone who brings the experience to life. It demonstrates that Indigenous owned tourism can deliver an exceptional international standard of hospitality while strengthening culture, creating employment and supporting the future of our community,” Chief Kevin Peacey, Klahoose First Nation

The resort offers just seven accommodations: four lodge rooms and three cedar cabins. Guests travel by boat from Lund for three-, four or seven-night stays that include meals, guided experiences and opportunities to connect with Klahoose culture and territory. Seasonal experiences range from marine wildlife tours to grizzly bear viewing in Toba Inlet.
