Klahoose Wilderness Resort is located just north of the Sunshine Coast, British Colombia a remote deep water channel named Homfray Channel, or in the Ayajuthem language the traditional name is "Thee chum mi yich" - meaning further back inside. The resort is oceanside in the lush coastal rainforest on the southern edge of the Great Bear Rainforest. Surrounded by the calm and warm waters and of Desolation Sound and the rugged Coast Mountain range, the Resort is only accessible by water or air.
To get to us, we offer a boat transfer departing Lund, British Columbia on Thursdays and Sundays. Our covered boat takes you to stunning Desolation Sound and the Klahoose Wilderness Resort, passage takes about 60 minutes, and is included in your stay.
Stays include all meals, tours, and boat transfer from Lund, for 3 and 4 nights and the Resort boat transfer from Lund Harbour is scheduled between May and October.

How to Get to Klahoose Wilderness Resort
Water Taxi is the most common way guests join us and is included in our packages. The trip is about 60 minutes by covered boat from Lund, BC, near Powell River, into Desolation Sound and the resort.

Arrive by Car and Boat
Enjoy a scenic boat ride from Lund on the Sunshine Coast to Desolation Sound aboard our covered vessel. As you cruise into the wilderness of the Klahoose Territory, keep an eye out for seals, sea lions, diverse bird species, and a variety of marine life.

Boat departs Lund Marina at 3:00pm
Boat departs Klahoose at 10:00 am, and returns to the Lund Marina at between 11 and 12pm.
Our boat is included with your stay and takes about 60 minutes.
Good to Know
Drive from Vancouver to Lund with BC Ferries between Horseshoe Bay to Langdale (40 minutes) and then drive 90 minutes to Earls Cove Ferry to Saltery Bay (50 minutes). From Saltery Bay drive to Powell River and Lund (60 minutes).
We recommend you make your BC Ferries reservations between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale. Ferry reservations are not required between Earls Cove and Saltery Bay.
Paid parking is available at the Lund Marina.
We meet all our guests at about 2:30 in front of the Lund Resort entrance.

Drive (5-6 hours) from Vancouver or Vancouver Island to the Sunshine Coast with BC Ferries to Lund, BC. Park your car in Lund (parking paid locally) and meet our boat at 2:30pm
OPTION 2: FLY FROM VANCOUVER TO POWELL RIVER + LAND & BOAT TRANSFERS
Scheduled Flight Pacific Coastal Airlines flight from Vancouver International Airport South Terminal to Powell River Airport.
Flight is 35 minutes from Vancouver to Powell River. Shared Land Transfer from Powell River Airport to Lund is 45 minutes.
These flight with shared transfer are available from May to October.
Rate: from $570 per person plus tax, round-trip flight. Powell River Airport - Lund shuttle and water taxi is included, offered once daily, in our packages - book through Klahoose Wilderness Resort or Pacific Coastal Airlines.
OPTION 3: SEAPLANE FROM DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER TO POWELL RIVER + LAND & BOAT TRANSFERS
Scheduled seaplane flights with Harbour Air Seaplanes, from downtown Vancouver direct to Powell River, landing on Powell Lake (40 minutes) .(Shared Transfer from Powell River to Lund is 45 minutes and scheduled once daily from May to October. Book with Harbour Air Seaplanes.
OPTION 4: SEAPLANE FROM VANCOUVER AIRPORT TO KLAHOOSE WILDERNESS RESORT
Scheduled seaplane flight CorilAir Charters, from Vancouver International Airport - South Terminal direct to our dock.
Flight is approximately 60-90 minutes from Vancouver to our dock. This flight may include additional stops. These flight are available daily from June to September.
Rate: from $1,279 per person plus tax, round-trip - book through Klahoose Wilderness Resort or CorilAir Charters.
OPTION 5: SEAPLANE FROM CAMPBELL RIVER TO KLAHOOSE WILDERNESS RESORT
Scheduled seaplane flight CorilAir Charters, from Campbell River direct to our dock.
Flight is schedule daily and is approximately 20 minutes from Campbell River to our dock. This flight may include additional stops.
Rate: from $560 per person plus tax, round-trip - book through Klahoose Wilderness Resort or CorilAir Charters.
OPTION 6: SEAPLANE COMOX TO POWELL RIVER + LAND & BOAT TRANSFERS Scheduled seaplane flights with Harbour Air Seaplanes, from Comox direct to Powell River (20 minutes), landing on Powell Lake. Transfer from Powell River to Lund is 45 minutes and scheduled one daily from May to August. Book with Harbour Air Seaplanes.

By Land and Ferry
The drive from Vancouver to Lund, located on the northern end of the Sunshine Coast is considered one of the most spectacular car journeys in North America. The route includes two BC ferry crossings with plenty of additional sightseeing options along the way. The total journey time is typically 5-6 hours with several picturesque villages and ferry rides en-route.
The 40-minute crossing from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale captures the magnificent scenery of Howe Sound and the B.C. Lower Mainland. A beautiful 90-minute drive from Langdale can include detours to the coastal village of Gibson and ends in Earls Cove where the Saltery Bay Ferry conveys passengers for 50 minutes across still more sublime scenery. The final one-hour drive to Lund passes through historic and now booming coastal town of Powell River. Note: EV Charing stations are available in Powell River.
On Vancouver Island, BC Ferries regularly depart Comox, close to Campbell River, for a 1 hour 20 minutes crossing to Powell River. Lund is about 45 minutes drive from historic town of Powell River.
Our boat transfer from Lund Harbour to Desolation Sound and the Resort, takes about 60 minutes and is scheduled to depart at about 3:00 pm on Thursdays and Sundays.

By Scheduled Air and Transfer
Located deep within the heart of the remote Desolation Sound biosphere, Klahoose Wilderness Resort is remarkably accessible. Several flight options are available and can be booked through the Klahoose reservation team.

a) Scheduled flights with Pacific Coastal Airlines departs from Vancouver International (YVR) South Terminal to Powell River Airport (YPW) and only takes 35 minutes, followed by our pre-arranged shared road transfer (1 hour) to the charming coastal town of Lund. Upon arrival to Lund Harbour guests are greeted by their local host and take a scenic 60 minutes covered boat transfer into Desolation Sound and Klahoose Wilderness Resort.

Note: Schedules are based on Pacific Coastal Airlines schedule and are subject to change. Please check with us for the most up to date flight schedules as we only offer one scheduled boat + land transfer per day. The complimentary connecting land shuttle is also once daily as a shared transfer option to help promote sustainability and to matches the arrival and departure flights below.
